"In his foster home Yeller lives with an abundance of different types of dogs and he gets along with everyone. In fact, Yeller is required to go to a home with at least one other dog, as another dog helps him build his confidence.
Yeller is fully potty trained, crate trained, and is very well behaved. He loves to lay on the couch, in a dog bed, or even sleep in his crate. He is trained to go to his crate for his meals, and he loves that. He does not walk on a leash due to his fear, so a fenced yard is required. A secure fence (one that is not easy to jump) is required.
Although Yeller doesn't love touch and we haven't gotten a collar on him, he does enjoy human connection, sitting on the couch a few feet from you while you watch tv, or following you room to room, but from a distance. It's a relationship with a dog who just wants to social distance at all times, but occasionally he'll surprise you by "booping" you. He is an incredible dog, and I do believe that he will flourish one day, he just takes a lot of time to get used to you. He does enjoy taking treats from your hands and I have successfully touched his feet. We think that Yeller is just so comfortable in his current foster home that he isn't going to push himself further, but in a forever home, he will be forced to "start over" and we think that is when he is going to really bond with his humans.
He is the perfect dog for someone who just wants a calm companion at home. He won't be your dog park dog or your restaurant dog, but he'll definitely be a sweet, calm companion that is still so deserving of a loving home and family."
Yeller is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on prevention. He completed heartwrom treatment and is now negative.
(Yeller is located in Charleston SC).

This is a special adoption profile, because Parka is a special dog. Please read her whole story. Her story is one of the saddest. She was almost euthanized for being "reactive" at the shelter. They kept giving her extensions because there were so many people rooting for her. Parka finally made it out thanks to the angels who offered to foster. The biggest surprise happened when she made it out of the shelter. Her foster woke up to PUPPIES. Suddenly it all made sense while Parka was "reactive" at the shelter. She was pregnant, approaching labor. Sadly the shelter did not realize that Parka was pregnant due to thinking her sagging teets were from past litters. She received her vaccines at the shelter which caused complications for the puppies, and only one survived. Now you can see why we said Parka's story is one of the saddest. She was still such a great mom and did an amazing job raising her puppy. He has since been adopted.
Her sad story doesn't end there. After completing heartworm treatment, it was time for Parka to get spayed. During her spay, the doctors found two mammary tumors. We chose to do biopsies, and we found that one was benign, but the other was cancerous. Thankfully with it being removed, it could not spread, and Parka does not have cancer.
Parka has really blossomed in her foster home, but it's going to take a special person/family to be her forever home. She is actually very dog friendly and really thrives with the company of another dog, so another dog in her forever home is required. When Parka gets nervous because of new smells/loud noises, etc., the dog in her foster home helps her calm down and shows her how to be confident. Parka really loves her foster mom, and is still a little shy around men and strangers. Parka is really great in the house and is crate and potty trained. She can go on the leash for potty time, but is still nervous on walks.
This sweet girl has been through so much. She deserves a calm, loving, peaceful home that will give her love and safety for the remainder of her days. Adopters who are gentle, patient, and loving are essential. She is fully vetted and in great health now, with a lot of life left to live.
(Parka is located in Fort Mill, SC).

Kela came into the rescue massively overweight at 146 lbs. She has been on a weight loss journey since then. She has dropped down to 103 lbs while with us! Kela is calm, affectionate, and has a heart of gold. She’s a big fan of snuggling on the couch and basking in the love of her people. But don’t let her relaxed nature fool you—Kela is also up for adventures! She loves going on car rides, walking around the neighborhood, and having her own little outdoor adventures. She especially loves to be pet by the neighbors when she is out for her daily walks. Kela expects her walks after dinner and will follow you around until she gets them. Whether it’s a walk or just rolling down the windows for a breeze on a car ride, she’s always ready to share the experience with you. She is a dog that loves to be around her people. Kela does have a sassy side with a big princess personality mixed in there with a very lazy girl.
What Kela Needs:
- A home where she can be the only dog or live with a calm, quiet dog. Kela thrives in peaceful environments and prefers a laid-back lifestyle. She is currently fostered in a home with many other dogs but prefers the calm, older ones. She does warm up to new dogs and does very well with puppies (surprisingly)!
- A comfy couch to crash on after a day of fun and adventures.
- A family or individual who loves to spend time with her, whether it’s taking her on car rides, going for walks, or simply relaxing together.
What Kela Loves:
- Napping and getting cozy (she loves to lay her head in your lap)
Sunbathing (she likes to roll on her back and put her belly up to the sun)
- Car rides (she’s always up for a little adventure)
- Daily walks (she ADORES her walks and enjoy the sights and smells)
- Spending time with her people—she’s the most affectionate, loyal companion
- Occasional treats and snacks to make her day even better
Kela is the perfect mix of calm and curious, and she’s ready for a forever home that appreciates both her chill side and her love for little outings. If you’re looking for a sweet, easy-going dog who loves her people and enjoys both cozy days in and adventures, Kela is your girl. She will need to be walked daily to continue her weight loss; she especially looks forward to (and expects!) her daily walks after dinner. She is full potty trained and is not destructive at all when left out while gone. Kela has been waiting a long time for this moment, and she is officially ready to find her forever home with her forever people!
Kela’s heartworm treatment has been completed. Kela is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and prevention.

I LOVE kids & ‘my people’ - I’ve learned to LOVE walkies - I LOVE a snuggly couch with blankets - and who wouldn’t LOVE treats?! I know how to sit, give paw, come when called, and go in my crate when it’s time. I’m super smart, super sweet, super goofy, and a super good boy. Oh, and I’m potty trained! My mom says that I’m “dog friendly” with the right dog. I wouldn’t do well in a dog park (too overwhelming & scary), but I do really like to say hi to new friends on walks. I’d need a little bit of patience & time to feel safe in a home with another dog. My foster brother is submissive, chill & respects my boundaries when I’m not feeling well or just don’t want to play - and we get along GREAT (he’s my BFF ).
I am fully vetted, AKA I've had my yearly vaccines, monthly prevention, and have been neutered and microchipped. I also completed my heartworm treatment. If you’re looking for a goofy, smiley dog that’s low maintenance and enjoys slow walks, thrives on couch snuggles, loves his person, and is an all-around good boy - we might be a good match.

Beth is a young adult, approximately 3-4 years old, and full grown at 45 pounds. Beth has a sad story. She came into the shelter with her jaw ripped open and covered in scars. She thankfully healed up wonderfully. Despite whatever she went through, she was still incredibly friendly with people and dogs. She is fostered in a home with a lot of other dogs and a cat. She is very well behaved and loves her people and other animals.
Beth is fully vetted but is heartworm positive. She gets her heartworm treatment soon and will officially be adoptable after. Anyone interested in Beth can apply to foster-to-adopt as long as they are willing to transport her to treatment.

Opie is a special guy who is officially ready to find his person/family. He came to us in January and we were told he was very timid because he had lived in a crate for two years. We quickly learned Opie had some fear reactivity. It didn’t scare us, and we knew he deserved a chance to work through it. He slowly has, and has built more trust with his foster family every single day.
Not long after saving Opie from the shelter, we received messages from people in his past life. We found out he was born in December of 2020. He lived with one family for two years before they faced hardships and rehomed him. Long story short, they had rehomed him with a friend, and apparently he wasn’t treated well. We were told that Opie had been locked in a crate for 24 hours a day, picked up by the skin of his neck, cut by a knife, and even left in a hot car once and almost died because of it. We were also contacted by this other person and were told the first family abandoned Opie. We don’t know what is true. We do know that over time, Opie developed fear reactivity - can you blame him? - and then he wound up at the shelter.
Opie has never had a true home with people he could trust in his 4 years. He has experienced a life of hardships, abandonment, and a life where he never guaranteed to live without pain or fear. We have worked really hard to show Opie that he doesn’t have to fear for his safety. He won’t feel pain again. He won’t have to wonder when his next bathroom break will be, or if he has to relieve himself in his crate. He won’t have to wonder if his people are never coming home. He won’t have to wonder if a human is reaching down if it’s to pet him or hurt him. He will never have to worry about those things or know a life of neglect ever again. It’s time to find this boy a real family. One that will continue to help him trust and build more confidence each day. Opie thrives with a structured routine. He’s very active and loves a fenced yard to zoomie in. He also loves going for adventures. He can be wary of strangers. Kids would likely make him nervous, so no kids in the home is required. He has prey drive, so we suggest a home without cats or small critters. He is dog friendly but can play rough, so he would do great with a dog not intimated by his play style, or as an only dog with occasional play dates with others. He loves snuggles and loves adventures, and will make someone a great dog. Let’s find him a GREAT human!
Opie is 4 years old and full grown at 28 pounds. We did a DNA test and he is mostly cattle dog and dachshund. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and UTD on prevention.
(Opie is located in Charleston, SC).

Rick may have had a rough start, but you’d never know it from his happy-go-lucky spirit. This lovable goofball came into the shelter as a 7-month-old puppy and spent 8 long months there—far too long for any pup to grow up without a home. But Rick never let it dull his shine. He greeted every day with a wagging tail, a big smile, and a love for playtime and meeting new friends.
Now about 1.5 years old and a solid 60 pounds of joy, Rick is finally out of the shelter thanks to a foster—and he’s thriving. He’s playful, affectionate, and absolutely adores attention. Snuggles, belly rubs, and couch time are high on his list of favorite things (right after playtime with other pups!).
Rick is still adjusting to home life and learning that he’s not a little puppy anymore—but his eagerness to please and joyful personality make him a fast learner. He gets along great with other dogs, especially those who are down for some fun play sessions. He’s a big ol’ mush who just wants to be loved and included.
Rick is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on prevention. He’s ready for the forever family he’s waited so patiently for.
💛 Want to be Rick’s happy ending? Apply to adopt!

Tina is a sassy, sweet, 10-year-old chow mix who still has plenty of love and personality to share! Weighing in at just 35-40 pounds, this senior girl is ready to spend her golden years getting all the snuggles, naps, and treats she deserves.
Tina was adopted as a puppy alongside her buddy Jack, and after being abandoned by their previous owners, she’s now finding comfort in a safe, loving environment. Though she’s heartworm positive, Tina is undergoing the slow kill treatment and is already spayed and fully vaccinated. She also came to us with some severe skin issues. She has made tremendous progress but will likely need to continue her cytopoint injections (for itching) and some supplements for skin and hair health.
This sweet girl may be a senior, but she’s still a playful, silly soul who loves attention and affection. Tina is looking for a quiet home where she can live out her years surrounded by love and care. If you’re ready to spoil her with endless cuddles, Tina would love to meet you!

Carl is fostered with his brother, Kyle, and the resident cat and dogs. If he is adopted with his brother, the second adoption fee is waived!

Kyle is fostered with his brother, Carl, and the resident cat and dogs. If he is adopted with his brother, the second adoption fee is waived!

He arrived with his lifelong companion, Tina. She quickly found a foster home, and we knew we couldn’t leave Jack behind. So we brought him into our rescue—and into our hearts.
At first, Jack was unsure and lacked confidence without his sister by his side. But it didn’t take long for his personality to shine. He quickly learned how to walk on a leash, rest comfortably in a crate, and show us just how much love he has to give. Jack is incredibly affectionate—he’ll press his whole body against you, and if he could crawl inside your skin for snuggles, he absolutely would.
Like any good husky mix, Jack is a talker. He’ll tell you all about his day and how he’s feeling, and we promise, his goofy little grumbles will make you smile. He’s an easy, gentle soul who enjoys going for walks, relaxing at home, and being close to his people.
Jack is fully potty, crate, and leash trained. He gets along well with other dogs—he may be a little quirky and vocal, but he loves to play. He’s not a fit for a home with cats, as he doesn’t quite understand they aren’t toys.
When Jack arrived, he had hair loss along his back, which has been improving with medication. He is also heartworm positive and undergoing the slow-kill treatment method.
Jack is a simple boy with a huge heart. All he wants now is a soft place to land, someone to snuggle, and a forever family who won’t ever let him go. He is about 35-40 pounds and is up to date on vaccinations and prevention, and is neutered and microchipped.

After spending nearly a year in the shelter, Dolly is finally getting to enjoy what it means to be a dog—and she’s ready to find her forever family. Estimated to be around 4–5 years old, Dolly is the perfect mix of playful, goofy, and affectionate, with a heart full of love and so much life to share.
She’s about 55 lbs and full of personality. Her favorite things include long walks, chew toys, rolling around in random places (yes, even the middle of the street!), and getting belly rubs from her people. She’s silly and sweet, and she does the cutest little happy dance when you let her out of her crate. Dolly is learning her leash manners and is doing great with crate training. She's come a long way and continues to make progress every single day.
Dolly lives with other dogs in her foster home and has done well with calm, friendly pups—especially with slow, proper introductions. She loves people and has done great at adoption events, happily soaking up attention from strangers. Because she can still be a little mouthy when she’s excited (in a goofy, pittie way), a home without small children is best for now. She just needs a home that’s ready to give her structure, patience, and a lot of love.
Dolly is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and prevention. She doesn’t need a fenced yard or another dog—just someone willing to include her in daily walks, snuggles, and a consistent routine.
After waiting so long, Dolly is finally getting her chance to shine. All she needs now is a forever home to call her own.

Josie came to us after spending her entire young life in a shelter, and now that she finally knows what it feels like to be in a home, she’s blooming more every day. She is believed to be a beagle mix and is fully grown at about 35 pounds — a perfect, compact companion for someone looking for a gentle, loyal dog.
Josie has picked up home life beautifully. She’s fully crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained, and she knows commands like sit, wait, stay, and more. She truly craves love from humans and seeks it out, wanting to stay close and soak up affection once she feels connected.
Because she didn’t get to socialize much during her early developmental stage, Josie can be shy with new people and new situations at first. But with patience, calm voices, and a soft approach, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly affectionate. She’s also dog friendly, enjoying play time or giving her canine friends gentle face kisses, and loves peaceful days spent lounging, walking, or being near her person.
Josie's ideal home is a quiet, gentle home where she can continue building confidence while feeling safe and loved. She thrives with a human who is confident yet gentle. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered girl who will reward your kindness with deep devotion, Josie is ready to meet you.
Josie is fully vetted — spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

I am fully vetted and pretty much completely crate and potty trained. I'm still learning leash skills but will continue to get better with time.

Merlin came to us as a community surrender after being found as a stray. Local shelters were full, so his finder agreed to foster him while our rescue covered his medical care and now works to find him a home.
Merlin is an approximately one-year-old, 40-pound shepherd mix with the loyal heart and sharp mind of a true working breed. He’s smart, eager to please, and happiest when he has a job to do—whether that’s going for walks, playing fetch, or keeping an eye on his people.
He’s crate and potty trained, and learning commands like sit, come, stay, and lay down. His tongue tends to hang out just a little, giving him the most charming “derpy” smile.
Merlin is a sweet and loving boy. He has been living in a home with a toddler and cats and has always been gentle and curious with them, but due to his energy level and breed, his ideal home has older kids only. He has done well meeting other dogs briefly. Merlin would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys outdoor time and daily exercise, and would love a person to teach him more tricks and training.
A home with a yard would be a huge plus for this guy.
Merlin is up to date on core vaccinations and prevention, neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Lainey came to us from a rural shelter where she was heartbreakingly out of time. The moment we saw her name on the euthanasia list, we knew she deserved a second chance—and she’s been making the most of it ever since.
At around 4–5 years old and just 30 pounds, Lainey is a petite girl with a gentle spirit and a big heart. She’s dog- and cat-friendly—completely unbothered by cats and happiest when playing with other pups or snoozing on the couch beside her people. With her low-to-moderate energy, she’s just as content going for a walk as she is curling up for a cozy nap afterward.
Lainey is nearly fully potty- and crate-trained, walks well on leash, and loves her daily strolls. She’s friendly with everyone she meets and has the kind of easygoing personality that makes her a joy to be around.
Lainey is up to date on core vaccinations and prevention, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.
